Mika Acosta
Founder of Primal Oxygen | Certified Breathing Coach
Primal Oxygen exists to help people breathe better so they can feel better in their body.
I teach functional breathing, nasal breathing, breath awareness, and simple breathwork practices for people dealing with stress, anxiety, poor sleep, low energy, reactivity, or feeling stuck in survival mode.
“Breathing well does not make life easy. It gives your body a better way to meet what life asks of you.”
I found breathing because I needed it myself.
For years, I lived with too much tension in my body and too little understanding of what was happening underneath it. Stress, anger, low mood, pressure, self-doubt, and long periods of feeling disconnected from myself were all part of the story.
I tried to push through most of it, and that worked for a while.
At some point, I had to accept that strength was not just about forcing myself forward. It was also about learning how to pause, regulate, recover, and come back to what actually mattered. It was about being vulnerable enough to seek out and ask for the help I needed.
Breathing became one of the first tools that made that real for me. Breathing better did not fix everything, but it did give me a way back into my body when I felt out of control.
Before becoming a breathing coach, I spent years in hospitality, operations, inventory, and data analysis. I understand pressure, long hours, performance demands, and the feeling of living mostly from your head while your body quietly carries the cost.
That is part of why I care about this work.
Along the way, I became an Advanced Oxygen Advantage® Instructor, a Certified Breathwork Coach with Inspire Academy, and a Certified Heart Coherence Practitioner.
The certifications gave me structure, science, and tools. But my own life gave me the reason to teach them simply.
Primal Oxygen exists because most people were never taught how to breathe well. And when your breathing is off, it can affect far more than you realize: your stress, your sleep, your energy, your focus, your patience, and the way you respond to life.
Breath practice is one of the foundations for better health. It is not, in any way, a miracle fix.
It is a practical way to understand your body better, regulate stress more effectively, and build tools you can actually use in real life.
